Hot Air Balloon Over - Knebworth Park - (Stevenage) |
|
| |
Described as "The Northern Home County" due to the proximity of its beautiful surroundings to the attractions of England's Capital, Hertfordshire is a patchwork blanket of picturesque villages, towns and famous landmarks set within beautiful countryside. Its proximity to London, the M25 and the South East's motorway network makes Hertfordshire a favourite destination in which to spend a day or perhaps longer, justifying our two launch sites. Befitting the majesty of the county, our Virgin Hot Air Balloon launch site is set within the elegant 250-acre grounds of Knebworth Park, surrounding the stately house itself. Lying between Hatfield and Stevenage the grounds are made up of parkland, wildlife sanctuaries and a wonderful playground. It is quite possible that shortly after take-off you will find yourself flying over many nearby tourist attractions including the Roman Baths at Welwyn or perhaps the impressive Jacobean Hatfield House, just 25 miles north of London. Home to the Lytton family for more than 500 years, this glorious stately house has hosted famous visitors during that time including the great English writer Charles Dickens. With many exciting places to visit, including Stevenage, St.Albans, Hatfield, Ashwell amongst others a flight from Knebworth is guaranteed to provide some quite unforgettable memories.
