| This is the latest of our South Lakes and Forest of Bowland launch sites. Ideally situated in the village of Wray on the banks of the River Hindburn which is a tributary of the River Lune. This site is our most Northerly Forest of Bowland site and our most Southerly South Lakes site. The Village of Wray is probably most famous for its Scarecrow Carnival which it stages every year. Each year most of the villagers make very elaborate scarecrows which are displayed at various locations. Watch out for the policeman scarecrow with radar gun as you approach the village or the parachutist scarecrow who sadly missed his landing site and hooked himself on the chimney of one of the cottages. Will there be a balloonist scarecrow this year? Who knows? On taking off from this site the 360 panorama will include the Lancashire coastline of Morecambe Bay to the South West, The Forest of Bowland falls to the South East. Ingleborough and the Three Peaks of Yorkshire to the North West and Kirkby Lonsdale and the Lune valley to the North. Where will our flight take us? Wherever the wind may blow us, but one thing you will be sure of it will be into an area of wonderful scenery.
