Back in April when it was getting warmer, not cooler and we had the summer months to look forward to, you may remember that we launched our Balloon Race! Setting off from Madeley Court hotel in Telford, 230 radiant red balloons were released (because, what other colour exists apart from red anyway?!) and the competition was launched. “Why 230 balloons?!” We hear you ask. We’ll tell you why! The Balloon Race was to celebrate 230 years of hot air balloons, because without hot air ballooning, where would we be?!
Each balloon had a tag with an individual code on, and whoever was lucky enough to find one of these balloons, had to enter the code on our website to enter the competition! Up for grabs was a luxury Virgin Balloon Flight for two, so this was most definitely a competition worth entering!
Here at Virgin Balloon Flights HQ, the winning entry was selected at random by our Chief Pilot Ken, who selected Alys Griffiths! Congratulations Alys, we hope you enjoy your flight. To say thank you to all other people who took the time to enter, we have offered to send them a copy of Sir Richard Branson’s latest book ‘The Virgin Way’, which is a definite must-read!
