  Balloon Flights Over - Headcorn

The beautiful county of Kent, often referred to as the 'Garden Of England', fully deserves its compliment of four Virgin Balloon Flights launch sites, found dotted about the adorable countryside.

Lying to the east of our site at Paddock Wood is the second of our most northerly launch sites, Headcorn.

Located in the Headcorn Aerodrome itself, the site offers the opportunity to while away the hours watching all forms of small private aircraft as they take off and land.

A glance at a local map will reveal a rich tapestry of surrounding countryside, sprinkled with the odd oast house and dozens of typical country villages, guaranteed to grab your attention from the basket.

Nearby, lies the elegant spa town of Tunbridge Wells with all its splendour, but just a few miles from the town are some fascinating landmarks that you may be fortunate enough to fly over. If not, then a visit by car would be worthwhile.

Amongst these historical attractions is 'Batemans', the former home of the poet and author, Rudyard Kipling and Bodiam Castle, set like a fairytale castle in its pretty moat.

With an abundance of excellent local inns and being within the hop growing centre of the UK, there is no better selection of local ales and watering holes to choose from should you feel a little thirsty post-flight.

With its gently rolling hills and sloping vales, villages and hidden history, the county itself offers the balloonist a first-class area to explore.
