Hot Air Ballon Rides Over - Stowmarket |
|
| |
Set on the banks of the River Gipping, amid the glorious Suffolk countryside, Stowmarket is a joy to fly from in a huge Virgin hot air balloon.
Our launch site in the heart of this quintessentially English town gives you a rare opportunity to catch a bird’s eye glimpse of the many historic buildings and surrounding villages.
As the name would suggest, the market has always been central to the town’s existence and should you fly on a Thursday or Saturday you’ll see far below how it still bustles to this day.
Right by the market place is the Museum of East Anglian Life with its 70 acre site devoted to recreating the region’s past. Here you could see the rare breeds of cattle and sheep or the Suffolk Punch Horses made to look like toys from such a height.
Onwards and upwards you’ll go until Stowmarket is just a dot in the distance; but which of its neighbouring towns will you drift towards; Bury St Edmunds to the West or Ipswich and the coast beyond to the East? Only the wind can decide, and which ever way you go, it will be the trip-of-a-lifetime!
