Aviation enthusiasts of all kinds will love the idea of soaring serenely above Bicester Aerodrome, formerly RAF Bicester. Previously home to No. 13 Operational Training Unit under Bomber Command this station saw squadrons with Vickers Virginia, Hawker Horsleys and Fighter Command Spitfires and Mosquitoes. A balloon ride is somewhat more peaceful but no less historic being one of the oldest forms of aviation.
Set in 400 acres with three nominal runways clearly visible from your balloon basket, Bicester Airfield is situated on the outskirts of this Oxfordshire town.
Once airborne over Oxfordshire the wind will carry you over some of the most picturesque scenery in England, from the meandering River Thames to rolling countryside and vibrant towns and villages.directionsBicester Airfield Bicester Oxfordshire OX26 5HA
