Matlock Bath is a designated conservation area brimming with stunning scenery just south of Matlock in Derbyshire. The River Derwent runs alongside the village in a steep and dramatic gorge.
From your hot air balloon basket looking north you might spot the famous Chatsworth House stately home dating back to 1553 as well as the town of Bakewell and onwards to views of the spectacular Peak District.
To the south you may be able to see Carsington Water, England’s ninth largest reservoir holding 35,412 megalitres!
It will be hard to miss the Heights of Abraham atop Masson Hill, first open in 1780 with its cable car system and 60 acres of wooded hillside. The breathtaking views of the Derwent Valley and surrounding peak district are something from a cable car but from anything up to 5,000ft in a hot air balloon, truly unforgettable!directionsMatlock Bath launch site:- Matlock Rugby Club Club House Cromford Matlock Bath Matlock Derbyshire DE4 3NU Matlock Rugby Club is located in Cromford, specifically Cromford Meadow.
