Roughly 4 miles west of the fabulous city of York lies Rufforth Airfield.

Away from the city your balloon might drift peacefully over the North York Moors or Yorkshire Wolds. Heather clad moors, rolling hills, pretty Yorkshire towns and historic houses all pass beneath your balloon basket. Imagine the view you will get from the unique perspective of a hot air balloon!
Magnificent landmarks such as the famous Castle Howard featured in Brideshead Revisited, Thirsk, (renamed Darrowby in James Herriot’s novels), compete for your attention, demanding a visit by air or once back on the ground.
After the descent of your balloon York’s many chic cafes nestled in its narrow streets will make the perfect post flight spot to relax and reflect on the spleandour of your balloon ride.directionsRufforth Airfield launch site:- Rufforth Airfield Rufforth York YO23 3NA Rufforth Airfield is approximately 4 miles west of York city centre, between the villages of Rufforth and Askham Richard.
