Legend has it that Sutton Valence was home to a Saxon battlefield, located on Greensand Ridge the village lies on top of a hill overlooking the flat landscape known as the Weald of Kent. Look out for Sutton Valence Castle, one of the village's main landmarks.

From Maidstone take the A274 towards Sutton Valence and Headcorn.
Go through Sutton Valence towards Headcorn. As you pass the "Weald of Kent" golf course on your left hand side, turn left onto East Sutton Road signposted for Ulcombe, East Sutton and Charlton Court.
Take the very next road on the left. At the grass triangle in the middle of the road take the right hand fork.
