Set in over 1,500 acres of beautiful parkland, woodland and farmland landscaped by Capability Brown this 18th century estate in Yorkshire houses a magnificent example of a Tudor-Jacobean mansion.
Once airborne from your hot air balloon basket look down across the estate and take in the sweeping views across the gardens, famed for their spectacular rhododendron walk. Many of the fine vistas and original features of the gardens are still visible today.
Avenue Wood close by has an amazing avenue running right the way through it which was a former carriageway and has views of Temple Newsam house from each rise.
If the wind carries you in a westerly direction you will see the city skyline of Leeds whilst to the east you will fly over a pretty patchwork of woods and farmland with views over Castleford and towards the North Sea and the River Humber on a clear day.directionsTemple Newsam Country Park launch site:- Temple Newsam Road off Selby Road Leeds West Yorkshire LS15 0AD From the M1: Come off the M1 at Junction 46 and take the A 6120 towards Leeds City Centre.
