Tewkesbury is steeped in history and is noted for the Battle of Tewkesbury which took place on 4 May 1471. At the ‘Bloody Meadow’, Edward IV's Yorkist forces defeated the House of Lancaster in a historic battle of the Wars of the Roses with a bloody aftermath. Tewkesbury was incorporated during the reign of Elizabeth I.
Tewkesbury is a pretty market town dominated by timber framed buildings in the English county of Gloucestershire and a perfect spot from which to begin your airborne adventure. The glory of the town is its 11th century abbey, The Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin, the second largest parish church in the country and a former Benedictine monastery.
Our Tewkesbury launch site takes off from Croft Farm Waterpark, located just outside Tewkesbury nestled in the scenic River Avon Valley. Looking south you will see the spa town of Cheltenham and views over the stunning Cotswolds, the country’s largest designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
If the wind carries your balloon in an easterly direction you will spot the Malvern Hills, often described as a mountain range in miniature, and home to some of the oldest rocks in Britain. With over 4500 acres of countryside to marvel at from the unique perspective of a hot air balloon basket, a balloon ride from Tewkesbury is sure to amaze and inspire.

Croft Farm is located approximately 1.5 miles from Tewkesbury on B4080.
You will see the water park signs on the left hand side, opposite the Cross Keys Inn.
There are security gates at the entrance of the park. If these are locked, please wait for the Virgin Balloon Team to arrive before entering.
