| People who book
a Virgin Balloon Flight from now and choose
to fly from the farm will get the opportunity
to look around and shop at the butchers and
deli counter before or after their trip.
Jimmy, who shot to fame after his efforts
to realise a dream of starting a rare breed
pig farm were captured in a BBC 2 documentary,
said he couldn’t wait to take a flight
himself.
“We are really pleased to be welcoming
Virgin Balloon Flights to the farm. What
a wonderfully natural way to enjoy the Suffolk
countryside. The balloons will be taking
off from one of our fields on the farm and
guests can check out the farm and sample
our food while they’re here,”
he added.
Each flight will last around an hour and
will end with a traditional champagne toast.
If the wind direction allows, they will
launch from a field on the farm far enough
away from the 500 rare breed pigs, cows,
sheep and other animals so as not to disturb
them.
Virgin Balloon Flight’s pilot Pete
Waller, who has been ballooning commercially
for 13 years and flies a huge 12-man balloon
in Suffolk, said:
“Jimmy’s Farm is ideally placed
as a launch site because it offers fantastic
views of Ipswich, the River Orwell and the
coastline beyond as you soar skywards. It
can also be part of a fantastic day out
as passengers get to explore the farm and
spot the friendly faces – both animal
and human – before or after their
flight.”
