A balloon ride from Aylesbury - in the heart of Roald Dahl country - is sure to give you a story to tell, as you take to the skies like James and the Giant Peach.
Enjoy the beautiful landscape that inspired the author, who wrote all of his famous children’s books at his home in nearby Great Missenden, from an amazing new perspective.
As you take off, a stones throw from the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, keep your eyes peeled for a steam locomotive chugging its way along the track.
Fantastic views across Aylesbury Vale and the undulating Chiltern Hills to the south beckon as you climb higher and higher.
Wind-willing, the magnificent Waddeston Manor, complete with its 750 acre garden landscape designed by the likes of Capability Brown, will pass beneath your basket.
If you should drift over Aylesbury itself, see if you can spot St Mary’s Church, the age-old King’s Head pub or the Market Square which dates from the 13th century and is still the focal point of the town.
Thanks to your balloon flight binoculars, towns including Tring, Oxford and Bicester may also appear on the distant horizon.
