Grantham (Stoke Rochford) Hot Air Balloon Ride

Fun & Interesting Facts

Notorious British highwayman Dick Turpin fled London and lived in Lincolnshire for a while, living under the alias John Palmer before he was finally arrested, convicted and hanged in 1739.

About

Take life higher on an unforgettable Lincolnshire hot air balloon ride and experience the airborne adventure of a lifetime.

Go up, up and away across this beautiful part of the East Midlands and enjoy seemingly endless panoramic vistas stretching as far as the eye can see.

Drift majestically over stunning rolling countryside and experience the unique mix of exhilaration and serenity that only a hot air balloon ride can bring.

One of our two gorgeous Grantham launch sites, Stoke Rochford offers a beautiful backdrop to fly up, up and away in our big red balloon.

If the wind takes you south, see if you can spot Woolsthorpe Manor – the home of Sir Isaac Newton and the place he made many of his important discoveries.

With such gloriously rich landscapes and heritage to look down upon from the comfort of the basket, this beautiful region can be truly appreciated from on high during your Lincolnshire hot air balloon adventure.

Directions

From the north, Stoke Rochford is very conveniently situated 6 miles south of Grantham, less than a quarter of a mile from the A1 and only 15 minutes from Grantham railway station.

Follow A1 north for 2.5 miles from the roundabout at Colsterworth (A151). Turn left to Stoke Rochford and enter the park 200 meters after leaving the A1 turn off, and follow the main drive to the Obelisk Car Park. This is next to the football field, where the balloon launches from.

Or two miles south of Great Ponton from Grantham, turn right to Stoke Rochford Village, enter the park after 200 metres and follow main drive to Obelisk Car Park. Park and meet crew on football field.

Please take all your litter with you and keep dogs on a lead at all times.
