Dream Bath Wedding Day Hot Air Balloon Ride For Oxford Couple

Reading Time - 1 minute

A dream wedding day hot air balloon ride left Oxford couple Sarah and Marcus on Cloud Nine this September.

In the perfect end to a perfect day, the newlyweds took to the skies over Bath with Virgin Balloon Flights, dressed in all their wedding finery.

Everything came together perfectly, including the unpredictable UK weather, which brought near-perfect conditions for the wedding day hot air balloon ride.

“We had the most fantastic day, made even more perfect by starting married life floating peacefully above beautiful Bath,” said Sarah.

Having witnessed first-hand how stressful planning a wedding was for many brides, Sarah and Marcus were determined to get married their own way – eloping to Bath and taking to the skies in a hot air balloon.

Getting Married Their Own Way

From a beautiful high street dress customised by a dressmaker to Sarah’s design to impulsive photography backdrops such as the ‘fabulous’ hot pink sofa in the window of a local Bath furniture store, the couple enjoyed a perfect and unique day.

“Having been engaged for four years, we had plenty of time to explore options on how to get married, from the traditional white wedding to an elopement to New York or the Caribbean,” added Sarah.

“Although all fabulous ways to get married, we concluded they were just not for us.

“I then had a brainwave – how about planning our own bespoke elopement? And that’s what we did.

“It was very empowering to break from tradition and do things in an alternative style. Bath is a place we love, so it didn’t take long to decide that was the place we wanted to wed.”

Sarah and Marcus even had a novel way of finding two witnesses on the morning of their wedding.

“It was nothing a homemade sign couldn’t solve," Sarah revealed.

"After 30 seconds standing on the steps of The Guildhall, we had two lovely witnesses who were also getting married on the same day.”

A Dream Wedding Day Hot Air Balloon Ride

Following a church blessing and afternoon tea, it was time for their unforgettable wedding day hot air balloon ride.

And the couple loved every second.

“We have certainly found a new obsession and have already talked about booking another balloon ride with Virgin,” said Sarah.

“We were overwhelmed and flattered by the immensely positive response we received. I hope our day shows other brides and grooms that it is possible to create the perfect wedding day without overspending or the stress of having to please other people.”

We absolutely love the romance here at Virgin Balloon Flights, and it doesn’t get much better for us than a wedding day hot air balloon ride.

As the British weather is such a fair weather friend to hot air ballooning, we can’t promise that a flight booked on your wedding day would definitely go ahead.

But if you’re looking for a unique way to celebrate once you’ve said ‘I Do’ (and have a backup celebration in place just in case!), then our team here at Balloon HQ will be thrilled to help.
