Bromyard is a historic market town, which was once the centre for fruit and hop growing in Herefordshire dating as far back as 1577. The countryside around Bromyard features hopyards and award winning cider orchards, in fact Bromyard is now the largest hop producing region in the UK and hosts an annual hop festival.
To the east of Bromyard look out for fantastic views of the Malvern Hills, known for their spring water and as part of the development of the 19th century spa town of Great Malvern. Designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty there are delightful scenic views over both Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
If the wind takes you just 2 miles east of Bromyard your balloon basket will pass over the National Trust Brockhampton Estate. A medieval moated manor house surrounded by tranquil woods and lush parkland this romantic family run estate is home to an abundance of wildlife from buzzards to dormice. The tearooms would make a lovely post morning flight spot for refreshment.
Fly in a westerly direction and depending on the wind speed you might be lucky enough to fly over spectacular Hampton Court which dates back to 1427 and was founded by King Henry. This captivating castle nestles on the meadows of the River Lugg and is surrounded by woodland in beautiful 1,000 acre grounds and gardens.
This area of Herefordshire has many a thing to be marvelled at, ever more so from the grand vantage point of a beautiful hot air balloon.
