Fun & Interesting Facts

The rules for modern football were first established in a local Cambridge park in 1848. Those rules went on to form the basis of the FA’s official rules set out in 1863

About

Adventure awaits when you take to the skies for an unforgettable Cambridge hot air balloon ride.

Enjoy the experience of a lifetime as you take in breath-taking bird’s-eye views over this historic city.

Depending on which direction the wind takes your adventure, see if you can spot Kings College Chapel and Cambridge University Library, or even the dramatic Fitzwilliam Museum.

With gorgeous city views or glorious rolling countryside stretching out in a 360 panorama, no other flying adventure compares to our unique ballooning experiences.

Go up, up and away for a majestic Cambridge hot air balloon experience and appreciate the beauty of eastern England like never before.

Our iconic big red balloon launches from Little Gransden Airfield, a few miles south west of Cambridge itself and surrounded by seemingly endless rolling countryside.

Directions

From the A1, exit onto the B1042 signposted towards Potton and follow this road for approximately four miles. As you pass through Potton, the road will change to the B1040 and you will see signs for Gamlingay.

Follow the road for another 2.5 miles and at the crossroads in the centre of Gamlingay, turn right towards Gransden. Continue for two miles, passing the main entrance for Fullers Hill Farm and the airfield and after the last white cottage on the left.

Drive to the end of the hedge where you will find the entrance. If the gate is locked, please park considerately and wait for the crew to arrive.

We meet at the end of the gravel track accessed through the yellow metal gates. Please park facing towards the exit/entrance parallel to the gravel track next to the grass embankment (parking is free).

Under no circumstances are passengers to drive past the end of the gravel track and passengers must stay near their cars. Please don't wander around, as we are right next to the main runway, which is active 24 hours.

Please note there are no toilet facilities at this location.
