Chelmsford Hot Air Balloon Ride

Fun & Interesting Facts

The UK’s first ever public audio broadcast was made from Chelmsford in June 1920. Said to have been received as far away as Newfoundland in Canada, it featured Australian opera singer Dame Nellie Melba.

About

Beautiful Essex landscapes await when you take to the skies for a stunning Chelmsford hot air balloon ride adventure.

Go up, up and away on the airborne experience of a lifetime and enjoy glorious views of eastern England from on high.

No other experience compares to the unique combination of tranquillity and exhilaration of a balloon flight.

Hop on board our big red balloon and go wherever the wind takes you for a sky-high adventure you will never forget.

Our Chelmsford hot air balloon ride offers gorgeous views stretching out in every direction.

Keep an eye out for the picturesque Hanningfied Reservoir to the south and the historic Hylands House to the west.

We launch from Newland Hall, a 15th century Tudor Manor House with its own moat, picturesque gardens, lakes and over 100 acres of grass and woodland.

Directions

Newland Hall is situated four miles west of Chelmsford on the A1060, exactly one mile past the Roxwell Motor Company.
From the centre of Chelmsford take the A1060, sign-posted Sawbridgeworth and Roxwell. Continue for approximately four miles, passing the Horse & Groom and The Hare public houses.
Newland Hall is sign-posted one mile past Roxwell Motors on the left.
The launch field is situated on your right as you go down the drive before the buildings.
Please do not park on the grass edge and wait in your vehicle to be greeted by your pilot and crew.
