Evesham can be traced back to the eighth century, around the same time its Abbey was founded. Built on the spot where the Virgin Mary is believed to have appeared to a humble swineherd called Eoves, the abbey has an unmistakable atmosphere of intrigue.
A hot air balloon ride from Evesham offers something for everyone and if fortunate enough with the wind, you might find that you follow the Vale of Evesham Blossom Trail that will take in many of the pretty surrounding villages.
Starting at Evesham itself, the Blossom Trail threads itself through scenic, historic places such as Fladbury, The Lenches and around the impressive Bredon Hill, to the North of which is Elmley Castle.
This really is a fairytale region with much to excite and inspire the balloon explorer, guaranteeing a memorable flight whichever direction the wind takes you.
From the north, go through Evesham town centre, where you will come to a small roundabout at the bottom of the town. Take the turning off the roundabout into Abbey Road. Proceed along Abbey Road, past the police station on the left-hand side then left immediately before the bridge, where the turning for Evesham Leisure Centre should be on your right. Head down the slope and Crown Meadow is in front of you.
Parking is pay and display, either on the meadow or in small car park at end of lane.
If access to the meadow is closed, please wait for crew to arrive to open gate.
