Morpeth Hot Air Balloon Rides

Fun & Interesting Facts

Morpeth is home to the world’s only bagpipe museum – a little slice of musical history in this charming market town.

About

Morpeth, the county town of Northumberland, makes an exceptional hot air balloon launch site thanks to its mix of history, river scenery, and architectural charm. Launch flights drift over the winding River Wansbeck and expansive green spaces like Carlisle Park, where spectators can spot the unique floral clock and 17th‑century motte‑and‑bailey mound, before ascending above landmarks like Morpeth Chantry, St. George’s Church, and the elegant Telford Bridge. The juxtaposition of medieval buildings and leafy parks creates a captivating panorama ideal for photography enthusiasts, offering a serene and scenic ballooning experience steeped in local heritage.

Lift off from Morpeth and soak up sweeping views across the Northumberland landscape. As you rise above the River Wansbeck and nearby woodlands, you’ll feel the calm that only comes from floating gently through the sky. From patchwork fields to far-off coastal glimpses, this is your chance to see the North East from a whole new angle.
