From Edinburgh (28 miles)
Take A702 south and turn right onto A721 (Glasgow). Just beyond Elsrickle turn left (Biggar). After 200 yards turn right (no sign). At the end of the road turn left and then right (Shieldhill Road). After 1.5 miles, Shieldhill Castle is on the right.
From Glasgow (30 miles)
From M8 exit at Junction 6 onto A73 (Lanark). In Carluke turn left onto A721 (Peebles). In Carnwath, at the traffic lights turn right onto B7016 (Biggar). After 5 miles turn right (Shieldhill Road. Shieldhill Castle is 1.5 miles on the right.
