Stamford Hot Air Balloon Ride

Fun & Interesting Facts

Stamford was the first conservation area ever designated in England and Wales, back in 1697. The town has more than 600 listed buildings, more than half the total number in the rest of Lincolnshire put together.

About

Experience an unforgettable Lincolnshire hot air balloon adventure when you take to the skies from beautiful Stamford.

Whichever way the wind takes you as you go up, up and away, glorious countryside and views you will never forget stretch out in every direction.

Proclaimed by Sir Walter Scott as ‘the finest stone town in England’, keep an eye out for the winding River Welland winding its way past our launch site at Stamford Meadows.

See if you can spot the dramatic façade of Burghley House, one of the UK’s most impressive Elizabethan manors.

Or you may find yourself drifting with the wind towards the picturesque Rutland Water.

Take life higher on the flying experience of a lifetime as you travel majestically and almost silently across some of the UK’s most wonderful landscapes on our Lincolnshire hot air balloon ride.

Directions

Turn off from the A1 at the Burghley roundabout and take the B1081 into town. Carry on straight over the river and up into St. Mary’s Hill.
Follow the road around to the left and then when the road next turns sharp right, you should turn left into Castle Street and then turn first left into Castle Dyke. This will lead you down to the parking on Bath Row.
Park safely in the Pay and Display car park and walk onto the launch site to meet the balloon.
