Keeping the Kids Flying High - Kids Activity Ideas From Virgin Balloon Flights

Reading Time - 1 minutes

Usually, by now our flying season would be well underway, and our beautiful big red balloons in the sky.

But as we’ve had to put that on hold due to the coronavirus, some of the team’s thoughts have turned to how we can help budding young pilots with the odd fun kids' activity.

Many of our staff are currently home with their children, and as we all adapt to a ‘new normal,’ we wanted to do our bit to help entertain those kids, with some easy learning and creativity along the way.

Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be posting a series of blogs with fun worksheets to download, all based around hot air balloons – our favourite subject!

Although it was a long time ago for many of our Virgin Balloon Flights team, we’ve gone back to our junior school education for inspiration on ‘Keeping The Kids Flying High.’

Because your little ones can still reach for the skies from the comfort of their own homes.

It's a well-known fact that kids have amazing imaginations.

We adults see things how they are, but children see things how they could be.

And our first kids' activity will show us exactly that.

Keeping The Kids Flying High – Kids Activity No.1

Pilot Phil is upset as he can't fly at the moment, and his trusty balloon is all packed away.

We want to cheer him up with some new funky, colourful, and never-seen-before-shaped Balloon Ideas! Can you help us out with this activity, kids?

Once you've finished the activity, you can ask your grown-up to share a picture of your design on our social media using #hereismyballoon

We’ll be posting ideas for a new kids’ activity every week, so keep checking back in to see what’s new!

We’d also love to hear what you’ve already been up to keeping your young flying aces entertained. Let us know your favourite kids' activity in the comments below.
