A very special guest with a fondness for muddy puddles is set to join the Virgin Balloon Flights team at this year’s Bristol International Balloon Fiesta.

Running from Thursday 6th until Sunday 9th August, Bristol International Balloon Fiesta is one of the biggest festivals of its kind in Europe, attracting crowds of up to 500,000 across the four days. Virgin Balloon Flights pilot Mark Simmons – known as Nobby to his passengers and crew – attends the event each year and said this year’s was looking to be one of the best yet.
“Bristol International Balloon Fiesta is a fantastic day out for the whole family,” he said.
“This year we wanted to do something special for the smaller visitors who are too young to fly in a hot air balloon, so we have invited Peppa Pig along for the Saturday afternoon.
“Although given the reaction among our own team when they heard the news, Peppa will be proving just as popular with the grown-ups as she will the under-fives.”
Peppa Pig will make a number of personal appearances at the festival at intervals throughout the afternoon, starting from about midday.
Founded in 1979, Bristol International Balloon Fiesta has grown to become one of the UK’s top five outdoor events.
Virgin Balloon Flights is just one of more than 100 commercial balloon flight companies and private enthusiasts to take part.
From the popular ‘mass ascent’ on Friday morning to the spectacular ‘night glow’ and fireworks displays, the event continues to grow in popularity each year.
