Taking to the skies on one of our Perth hot air balloon rides is a truly unforgettable way to see the ancient capital of Scotland.

One of six wonderful launch sites for our Scotland balloon rides, a flight from Perth City Centre offers a stunning mix of historic city skyline and beautiful countryside.

From its spectacular mountain ranges and lochs to miles of forests and open fields, it’s no wonder a Scotland hot air balloon ride is on so many people’s bucket lists.

Our Perth hot air balloon pilot is Kate Holzer, who has been flying with us since 2015 and is one of the best young commercial hot air balloon pilots in the UK.

Our Perth Hot Air Balloon Rides

Our big red balloon is an iconic sight as it launches from the North Inch, where the famous Battle of the Clans took place in 1396, before drifting majestically up and over the city skyline and the iconic River Tay.

“My favourite place to fly a hot air balloon is Scotland,” said pilot Kate.

“It’s just such a beautiful and dramatic landscape and nothing compares to seeing it from on high in the basket of a hot air balloon.

“One of the best things about what I do is being able to share that amazing feeling you get in the air with my passengers.

“It’s like nothing else and I absolutely love it.”

Keep an eye out for one of Perth’s many ancient castles – with five of them within 20 minutes of the city itself – and the pretty Kinnoull Hill Woodland Park to the east.

To the south lies the dramatic Lomond Hills Regional Park, while Tay Forest Park is to the north.

Hot air ballooning in Perth is a truly spectacular, once-in-a-lifetime flying experience that will leave you with memories to last a lifetime.

Our Perth city centre launch site is an ideal place to go ballooning in Scotland, we also fly from nearby Coupar Angus near Blairgowrie - another great place to go up, up and away and take in the glorious views of those breathtaking Scottish highlands.
