Ever dreamed of a Nottinghamshire champagne hot air balloon ride? Now’s the time to make it a reality and book that flight with Virgin Balloon Flights.

We have two launch sites to consider and both will give you the chance to discover this part of the country from a different perspective.

Nottingham Racecourse

We’re always on the lookout for perfect launch sites and we feel we’ve found another superb spot at Nottingham Racecourse in Colwick Park. Located to the west of the city centre you’ll rise over Colwick Country Park for a bird’s eye view of Nottingham’s cityscape.

St Mary’s Church, constructed in the 14th and 15th centuries, stands proud and is the largest remaining medieval building in the city.

With the wind, you may follow the River Trent as it winds its way alongside the racecourse. Sports fans should be on the lookout for Nottingham Forest FC’s, The City Ground along with the Trent Bridge cricket stadium.

Another of our Nottinghamshire launch sites is Newark where we take off from the grounds of beautiful Kelham Hall. A Victorian stately home surrounded by over 80 acres of parkland will make for a lovely start to your balloon ride.

Every hot air balloon ride is different so it’s impossible to say exactly what you’ll see as you float above however we’re sure you’ll enjoy every minute of your flight.

Newark-On-Trent is a lovely town with Georgian market squares and spectacular remains of the 12th-century Newark Castle and Gardens. The imposing Church of St Magdalene is also a treat to see.

A southerly wind could take you towards Grantham, while to the northeast a clear day could offer views as far as Sherwood Forest Country Park.

Our pilot Rebecca Cains will be flying you from Newark. Rebecca is one of the country’s most experienced female pilots having been involved with ballooning for the last 13 years.

Flying you from Nottingham will be Tom Hook. Having spent his childhood around hot air balloons he is now a pilot himself and can't wait to get started in our 2019 flying season.

See you in the skies!
