2020 sees the addition of our Rugby launch site. Perfectly placed to discover the Warwickshire skies aboard one of our fabulous balloon rides, it proudly sits among our over 100 existing launch sites.
A balloon flight over Rugby will launch near the shoreline of the beautiful Draycote Water nature reserve which rests between Rugby and Daventry. At the heart of the reserve is the Draycote Reservoir, constructed in the late 1960s to meet the demand for water from south and east Warwickshire. For those with a love of the great outdoors, cycling, bird watching, walking, watersports and fishing are available at the reserve. Float Over Towns & Villages
Northeast of the reserve lies the historic town of Rugby. As you float up, up, and away on your balloon ride, the 2021 City of Culture will be on the horizon no matter which direction the wind takes you. The second largest town in Warwickshire, Rugby offers everything you'd expect such as quality independent shopping, cafes, and restaurants.
It is probably most well known as the birthplace of the game of Rugby itself. Any fan is sure to relish the chance to visit the World Rugby Hall of Fame. Here, they can explore the history of the game from its humble beginnings to the global influence it has today.
Should your Rugby balloon ride take you southwest, you may catch a glimpse of one of Warwickshire's most impressive buildings, Bourton Hall. This striking 18th-century Italian Renaissance-style country mansion is now a popular wedding venue, not surprising given the 15 acres of picturesque gardens and woodland that surround it.
Travelling southeast, you may happen upon the village of Braunston which lies at the junction of the Grand Union Canal and the Oxford Canal. This pretty village along with the canal boats is sure to provide plenty of good photo opportunities.
