As the Virgin Unite Insider for Virgin Balloon Flights, I went off to Virgin Management HQ last month to take part in a ‘Hit Squad Day’ for Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Starlight grants wishes to seriously and terminally ill children throughout the UK and puts smiles on over half a million children’s faces in hospitals and hospices every year. Co-founded in 1986 by British actress Emma Samms and her cousin Peter Samuelson, Starlight has been giving poorly children their childhood back by granting them once-in-a-lifetime wishes for the
last 25 years.

The charity was keen to get our 'Virgin' minds together using our expertise to help develop Starlight's fundraising mechanisms. Arranged by Virgin Unite, employees of our bright red brand spent the day thinking up innovative, fun (and some whacky) ideas for Starlight’s fundraising campaigns.

Starlight’s Head of Corporate & Fundraising Partnerships, Sarah Dawson said “It was really interesting to hear all the new ideas and twists on ideas drawn from everyone’s own areas of expertise and business. We are very excited about the ideas and campaign themes that we talked about and are looking forward to working out how and what to take forward and work up.”

To support this fantastic cause why not take a look at their website www.starlight.org.uk, you can also follow them on Twitter @starlightmagic or like them on Facebook by searching ‘Starlight Children’s Foundation’.
