Situated on the eastern edge of the Peak District lies our South Yorkshire launch site of Rotherham. A hot air balloon ride from here will give glorious views of both town and countryside.
Keppel’s Column sits between Kimberworth and Thorpe Hesley, in the north west of the Rotherham district.
As you drift higher, look out for the beautiful Peak District to west with it’s rolling hills and moorland.
To the north east you may catch a glimpse of Wentworth House, a Georgian Grade I listed stately home which boasts the longest facade of any country house in England. It stands in 87 acres of gardens and grounds and has an interesting and varied history having been used by Military Intelligence during World War II and as a Women’s Physical Education College for training teachers.
To the south and south west lies Rotherham and Sheffield and further to the north is Barnsley.
Flying from Rotherham will be our pilot Tom Wood, you can find out more information about him here.
