Take to the skies from the beautiful grounds of Kelham Hall on our Newark hot air balloon rides.
Lying on the ancient Roman road known as the Fosse Way, Newark-On-Trent used to be known as ‘the key to the north’.
Its crown jewel – the spectacular remains of the 12th century Newark Castle and Gardens alongside the winding River Trent – may even pass below your basket.
Keep your camera poised for the cobbled market place and the imposing Church of St Magdalene with its spire nestled among the town’s many timbered framed buildings.
To the north lies Lowfield Nature Reserve and Besthorpe Nature Reserve.
A southerly wind could take you towards Grantham, while to the north east a clear day could offer views as far as Sherwood Forest Country Park.
Our Newark pilot Rebecca Cains and her crew look forward to taking you up, up and away soon.
Our launch site of Kelham Hall and Country Park is a beautiful example of a Victorian stately home, surround by more than 80 acres of stunning parkland.
Newark hot air balloon rides can be a fascinating journey back in time, as well as into the Nottinghamshire skies.
Beyond Newark itself, don’t forget that your East Midlands regional flight voucher can be used to fly any of our launch sites across Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and even as far north as Derbyshire.
Kelham Hall is situated on the A617 just to the West of Newark and within a few minutes drive from the A1 and A46 trunk routes.
If travelling from Newark on the A617, continue over the narrow bridge and past the next entrance into the new houses. The main drive is signposted Newark and Sherwood District Council offices.
Use the parking spaces outside the main building and walk over to the balloon, which launches from the main field adjacent to this building and the A617.
Kelham Hall’s toilets are available for passenger use if required.
