Newbury Hot Air Balloon Ride

Fun & Interesting Facts

Paddington Bear author, Michael Bond was born in Newbury in 1926. So without Newbury, there would be no Paddington Bear.

About

A spectacular Newbury hot air balloon ride is the experience that puts the beautiful Berkshire landscape at your feet.

Take to the skies in our iconic big red balloon from Victoria Park in the very centre of town.

Enjoy breath-taking views of some of the UK’s most beautiful landscapes as you go up, up and away on a unique airborne adventure.

The stunning North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty lies to the West, with miles of patchwork fields and woodland to the north and east.

Newbury itself is an historic and attractive town with a wealth of 17th century buildings. See if you can spot the medieval Cloth Hall with its adjoining half-timbered granary.

To the south lies Greenham Common – famous as the home of the Cold War nuclear bunker.

Take life higher on an exhilarating Newark hot air balloon adventure with Virgin Balloon Flights - the UK's No.1 passenger balloon rides operator.

Directions

The post code for the meeting place for this launch site is RG14 1DN.

Victoria Park is located right in the middle of town. There is no parking at the park itself but there are two public car parks a short walk away at Wharf Street (RG14 5AS) and Bear Lane. Both car parks are located just south of the river, therefore passengers will need to walk over the bridge into Victoria Park.

We launch from the football pitch/ area in the northern end of the park.

Passengers are requested to meet the balloon team in front of the park pavilion.

Please allow at least half an hour to park your vehicle and walk over the bridge to the pavilion.
