While probably most famous for the Robin Hood folk legends, Nottingham has a few more contemporary claims to fame. High street pharmacy, health and beauty chain Boots was born as family-run pharmacy in the city back in 1849, while HP sauce was invented in a packing factory in the 1890s.
Ibuprofen was also invented in the city by a former Boots pharmacy apprentice, Stewart Adams in 1961.
