Hot Air Balloon Launch Sites With Firework Displays

Reading Time - 2 minutes

Remember, remember the 5th of November, which was once famous for the failed Gunpowder Plot of Guy Fawkes and his dastardly associates, but now is more of a modern affair with sparklers, fireworks, and hotdogs!

We only use the best areas for our hot air balloon ride launches, and the locations we use don’t just offer places steeped in history and beauty, as well as hosting Virgin Balloons, some of them also offer brilliant fireworks and bonfire displays too!

Our Derbyshire Launch Site

Take the glorious Peak District, which awaits you when you take to the skies for an unforgettable Bakewell hot air balloon adventure. Seemingly endless miles of glorious hills and valleys stretch out in every direction, with the most dramatic found in the Peak District National Park itself.

In the heart of the Peak District National Park, Chatsworth House is putting on a special bonfire bash to celebrate Guy Fawkes Night. Wrap up warm and enjoy a range of live entertainment, including a bonfire and two fireworks displays. There’s a selection of food on offer, too, from hog roasts to churros and mulled cider galore – the ultimate winter warmer.

Take Off in Kent

Another launch site for our balloon rides is in Kent, which hosts Leeds Castle. It’s an unforgettable adventure with a Hollingbourne hot air balloon ride as you can admire the stunning ‘Garden of England’ from on high as you drift serenely wherever the wind takes you.

Unforgettable views of glorious Kent countryside await you, spanning miles in every direction and dotted with orchards, oast houses, and vineyards.

Leeds Castle comes alive in November for two days with lights, sounds, and colour, and this year's display combines fireworks and projected moving images to create an audio-visual treat.

Alexandra Palace Fireworks

It is not one of our launch sites, but still worth a special mention because of the magnitude of the display at is Alexandra Palaces fireworks festival!

Every November, for over 150 years, the skies above Alexandra Palace in north London have come to life with one of the city's most impressive firework displays. This year's Fireworks Festival takes place across two days with a host of supporting attractions, including a German bier festival, an ice skating rink and some of the best street food from kitchens across London.

Whether you enjoy big displays or the garden variety, November 5th is sure to be a banging event this year, not least because we all had a very limited experience of firework displays last year!
