Bath Globe Roundabout (Back-Up Site)

Our back-up launch site for Bath, your flight may be moved here on the day.

With so many historic monuments, picturesque views and Roman remains, you never know what you might see when soaring over the ground near Bath.

The hot air balloon launch site is in the small village of Newton Saint Loe, which is a geological Site of Special Scientific Interest, close to the River Avon. The bodies of mammoths and horses have been found in the area.

Nearby Carrs Woodland is a beautiful local nature reserve, with broad-leaved woodland, limestone pasture and a brook.

As you soar through the sky, you will see breathtaking views across the countryside but with such close proximity to Bath, your hot air balloon flight will offer you a unique perspective of the Roman city.

Designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, Bath has some of the finest architectural sights in Europe.

You may find your balloon drifting over the bustling city of Bristol, with possible views of the awe-inspiring Clifton Suspension Bridge and the Avon Gorge.

Soar over the many picturesque villages and stunning countryside on this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Midsomer Norton and Radstoke both enjoy a history stretching back to the Iron Age.

Eastwards from Bath, the historic Kennet and Avon Canal travels through the beautiful Limpley Stoke Valley.

Once you are back on the ground, the nearby pub, The Globe, will offer you a chance to contemplate all the amazing sights you have just seen.

Oozing with rural charm, the pub has been offering refreshments for more than 300 years and guests are welcome to sit back and relax.

Coming from Bath, follow the A4 towards Bristol until you get to the roundabout at the end of the dual carriageway. You will see The Globe Inn on your lefthand side, go around the roundabout as if you were going back into Bath.

Just before the 4th exit back along the dual carriageway you will see an exit and track leading to the fields on your left. Take this exit, follow the track to the grass field at the end. This is the launch site and the balloon team will meet you here.
