Enjoy a stunning hot air balloon ride over Lancaster and find the beautiful countryside at the gateway to the Lake District at your feet.
Described as one of the most picturesque spots in north west England, Lancashire’s Crook O’ Lune lies on the cusp of a large curve in the River Lune, right on the doorstep of the Lake District.
This lovely spot provides the perfect launch site for a hot air balloon ride and perfectly showcases the stunning scenery of north Lancashire.
As you drift serenely through the skies, you may see quaint Kirkby Lonsdale to the south east or the historical city of Lancaster itself below, rich in cultural heritage and home to a castle owned by none other than Her Majesty the Queen.
The beauty of Crook O’ Lune was famously captured by the inspiring artist JMW Turner and eloquently illustrated by the poets Thomas Gray and William Wordsworth. Once you have seen this glorious landscape, it will be no surprise that it inspired such eminent works of art.
A hot air balloon ride over Lancaster will open up a seamless network of contrasting landscapes for you to enjoy from a breathtaking bird’s eye view point.
Whether your flight follows the meandering River Lune, drifts above the rolling countryside or floats over the commotion of urban lifestyle, you’ll be sure to take away memories to last a lifetime.
Our balloon rides from Lancaster, along with our launch sites at Manchester and Nantwich, are the closest you will get to a hot air balloon ride near Liverpool. With its coastal location, it’s not possible to fly a hot air balloon from Liverpool itself but our nearby launch sites offer the best of both worlds, with dramatic city skylines in Manchester and beautiful rolling countryside around Lancashire and Cheshire.
Join our pilot Chris Aindow for an unforgettable sky-high ballooning adventure over Lancashire.
