Come hot air ballooning in Shrewsbury with Virgin Balloon Flights and we’ll show you Shropshire’s magnificent county town from a totally new perspective.
Discover the sights and sounds which influenced the childhood of evolutionist Charles Darwin on your Shrewsbury hot air balloon ride adventure and see if you can spot his statue sitting outside the library.
Launching from Battlefield to the north of the town, the right wind direction would take you over county town’s medieval street plan, the loop of the River Severn and Shrewsbury Castle.
Or it may guide your hot air balloon over Shrewsbury Abbey, fantastic timber-framed buildings or the English Bridge. Perhaps you’ll see Shrewsbury School, the Quarry Park or the New Gay Meadow football stadium, before heading into the countryside.
Interesting villages punctuate Shropshire’s patch-work landscape, while the Wrekin and beautiful South Shropshire Hills can be seen if the wind takes you south. You may even fly towards Oswestry and North Wales or up further into North Shropshire and towards Cheshire.
We think Darwin would have quite fancied a hot air balloon ride in Shrewsbury in the name of exploration. Ballooning over Shrewsbury is something you’ll never forget.
