Hatfield House Hot Air Balloon Ride

Fun & Interesting Facts

Back in 1538, King Henry VIII acquired The Old Palace at Hatfield House, which he used as a nursery for his three children, Mary, Elizabeth and Edward. It is probably most famously associated with Queen Elizabeth, who was placed under house arrest at Hatfield park when her older sister Mary became queen and was under an oak tree in the grounds when she herself would first learn of her succession to the throne of England.

The stunning Hatfield House is the setting for a glorious Hertfordshire hot air balloon ride.

Experience the skies and enjoy unforgettable panoramic views on the airborne adventure of a lifetime with Virgin Balloon Flights.

Our closest to London hot air balloon rides, on a clear day with the right wind direction you could very well enjoy views of the capital's iconic skyline as far as Canary Wharf in the distance.

No other flying experience comes close to the magic of a hot air balloon ride, as you go up, up and away with barely a sound to incredible heights.

Find the world at your feet when you hop in the basket of our spectacular Hatfield House hot air balloon flights.

Why not make a day of it at our beautiful launch site? The park, woodland walks and gardens are open Thursday to Sunday, 10.30am to 5pm during spring and summer.

This incredible experience from Virgin Balloon Flights is the perfect alternative to a London hot air balloon ride, with flights over the capital almost impossible due to the extensive airspace restrictions.
