Some of the most beautiful scenery in the Peak District awaits when you take to skies on a hot air balloon ride from Buxton in Derbyshire.
Famous for its bottle Buxton Water, the town was first settled by the Romans in around 70 AD, who were quick to recognise the benefits of its natural geothermal spring and originally named it ‘Aquae Arnemetiae’, which roughly translates as ‘spa of the grove goddess’.
Its popularity as a spa town boomed from the 1780s – with the spring waters still piped direction to St Ann’s Well near the town centre – and tourism remains one of Buxton’s biggest industries.
Our Buxton hot air balloon rides launch from just south of the town in Glutton Bridge. This secluded, private venue is set amongst some of the most stunning scenery in the entire Peak District.
Whichever way the wind takes you, take to the skies for a balloon flight and we guarantee you an unforgettable experience like no other.
Travel south out of Buxton on the A515 and after one mile, take a right turn on to the B5053 for Longnor.
After two miles you will come into Glutton Bridge, where you need to take the next right turn by the phone box.
Travel approximately 1/3 of a mile, crossing a cattle grid and park on the right hand side of the road.
Join us at the balloon itself on the opposite side of the road.
There may be livestock in fields so please ensure you KEEP GATES CLOSED and all dogs are kept on leads.
